Daniel Fast

Here is some information and websites you can click on to get some
information about the Daniel Fast. I have a friend who spoke to me
yesterday and asked if I would want to do this with her. I had never
heard about this fast. She advised that she would send me some information
on it. I decided to do a search and see what I could find about it.
And this is what I have found so far. The concept of a Daniel fast comes from Daniel 1:8-14.

What is a Daniel fast?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Question: "What is a Daniel fast?"

Answer: The concept of a Daniel fast comes from Daniel 1:8-14, “But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you." Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, "Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.”

The background of the “Daniel fast” is that Daniel and his three friends had been “deported” to Babylon when Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians had conquered Judah (2 Kings 24:13-14). Daniel and his three friends were put into the Babylonian court servant “training program.” Part of the program was learning Babylonian customs, beliefs, laws, and practices. The eating habits of the Babylonians were not in complete agreement with the Mosaic law. As a result, Daniel asked if he and his three friends could be excused from eating the meat (which was likely sacrificed to Babylonian false gods and idols).

So, a Daniel fast is eating only fruits and vegetables for a certain amount of time, abstaining from meat products. Some people use a Daniel fast as a dieting method. Some people use a Daniel fast instead of fasting from food entirely. The Bible nowhere commands believers to observe a Daniel fast. As a result, it is a matter of Christian freedom whether to observe a Daniel fast. Please also see our article on Christian fasting.

Make Time For Love

Make Time For Love

I was playing this song this morning on my way to work. Since playing
this CD this was the first time that the lyrics stood up and caught my
attention. The CD is one by Fred Hammond; I do not have the name with
me at the moment. The reason I felt compelled to write this was it inspired
my ride into work this morning. It made me sit back and listen to the words
very carefully. And this is what I understood from it.

We have to make time for love in our life’s. Our life on this earth is too short and
we never know when it is our time. We take things for granted because the
world is a busy place, just like the traffic in the world. The roads get so cluttered up you see no other routes to take some days. We just sit in our vehicles and want to start pulling our hair out. I know that my busy life keeps me from taking the time out that I need to address love. Now I do say “I love you” to my family on a regular basis and I give hugs and kisses. What I am saying here is am I making time for love? Let me break it down here. The word love is a very
powerful word.

What is make time for love trying to tell us? In order for us to make time for love
we have to get together, make plans, take romantic walks, exercise together, touch one another. The world that we live in makes us think that love is too hard. And so what happens is we don’t try hard enough to make things come about. We just go on with our busy life’s putting all kind of roadblocks up in the place of clearing
the way for love to enter daily.

What I enjoy about listening to Fred Hammond music is it all about God’s love.
This is the foundation we have to build on God’s love and then we can spread that
love around in our hearts and life’s. It like we will have a light shining, it reminds me of the song, This little light of mines I going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine. And with this particular song it tells us that we need to be spending time together. Because life is a chaotic, crazy, and leaves us overwhelmed.

Let’s start right now today and make time for love in our life’s.

Here is what the song says:

Make Time For Love
[Verse 1]
Lately we just pass each other by
We always say we'll get together
But we never find the time
To cherish and enjoy what we have together

[Chorus A]
Make time for love (love, love)
Don't make it hard (whoa)
You see life is way too short
And much too fragile
We both must pitch in and do our part
Make time for love
And you'll see it will get better
Make time for love
Make time for love

[Verse 2]
We don't communicate
This is the key
You say I never really talk to you
And you, you never talk to me
I don't understand
Just how our lives got away

[Chorus B]
Make time for love
Oh for love just make time (whoa)
You see life is way too short
Way too fragile
We both must pitch in and do our part
Make time for love
And you'll see it will get better
Make time for love
Make time for love

[Bridge]
Our relationship is not what is should be
You see we've got to to turn some things around
And make our love
Priority

[Chorus C]
Make time for love
Oh for love just make time (whoa)
I know it's hard
You see life is way too short
And much too fragile
We both must pitch in and do our part
Make time for love
And you'll see it will get better
Make time for love
Make time...

[Pre-Vamp]
I sure would like to see you smile
What if I called in and changed some things around
I hear you say you feel the same way
Put me in your planner for the whole day

[Vamp]
(Tell me how does that sound)-Make time for love, Make time for love
(Gotta do somethin' 'fore it all breaks down)-Make time for love, Make time for love
(What if I could hold your hand)-Make time for love, Make time for love
(Walk you down the street and lets start again)-Make time for love, Make time for love
(Before it's all too late)-Whoa, whoa, whoa
Make time for love, Make time for love
Make time for love, Make time for love

Reishi mushroom, also known as Ling-Zhi (Chinese), has been shown in recent studies to be helpful for heart health, including normal cholesterol, blood pressure, and circulatory system support. Reishi mushroom contains a high level of polysaccharides which are essential for proper functioning of the immune system.

Reishi mushroom is used as a tonic and a sedative. According to traditional Chinese Medicine, reishi was thought to "mend the heart." Reishi is a cardio tonic that supports normal blood and oxygen flow to the heart.

Reishi mushroom is one of the most valued plants in the Chinese pharmacopoeia. Reishi has been used for over thousands of years as a miraculous remedy for a variety of diseases including traumatic wounds, inflammation and various ulcers.

Reishi mushroom extracts have been shown to exert many beneficial effects which seems to support reishi's historical use as an "adaptagen". An adaptagen is defined as a substance which increases the resistance to stress and improves the general tone of the body and mind.

Reishi mushroom has been used to treat:

Sleep issues

High altitude stress

Cardiac and liver tonic

Immune system health
